Honoring the Real Martin Luther King, Jr: Remember and Recommit
Tuesdays April 26 - June 28, 7 - 9pm via Zoom.

Crossroads has been invited to participate in “Honoring the Real Martin Luther King, Jr: Remember and Recommit.” Crossroads will be participating in this ten session class via Zoom. Classes are Tuesdays from April 26 - June 28 at 7:00-9:00pm.

The Rev. Dr. Jim Melson, founder and Executive Director of the Cornelius Corps, will facilitate the class. The focus of these classes is on major events from the ministry of Dr. King and the Civil Rights Movement in the years 1955-1968 through presentations, video clips, and small group discussion. We will reflect on the witnesses of Dr. King and other partners in the civil rights movement and what their legacy means for our ongoing call to racial justice today.

Thank you to the Cornelius Corps, Inc. (www.corneliuscorps.org) in partnership with the Yadkin Valley District of the Western North Carolina UMC Conference for inviting Crossroads to participate in these classes.

Attendance for the entire 10 weeks is not necessary. Each week’s session will feature a year, event or movement. The registration is free.

Recommended, but not required reading, are the books
Where Do We Go From Here: Chaos or Community? by Dr. King
A Time to Teach by Julian Bond
