Education:  I am a graduate of Eastern Mennonite Seminary (82), which was preceded by a degree in Psychology and a minor in Education from Averett College (78).  Ferrum College (71-73).  Central Shenandoah Police Academy (74).

Hobbies:  Fishing, golfing, reading, traveling and most of all – spending time with my children and grandchildren.

Spouse:  Vicki Peery Thompson (from Hot Springs, VA)

Sons:  Chris and Amanda Thompson, Stephens City, VA, Jeremy Thompson, Suffolk, Virginia, Philip and Alicia Thompson, Davidson, NC

Daughter: Laura and Brian Staples, Stephens City, VA

Grandchildren: Canaan, Jordan, Chloe, Sydney, Emily, Lily, Maggie, Wesley, and Audrey

Additional information:  I am the son of the Rev. Lawrence R. Thompson, deceased Virginia Conference pastor.  My sister Lisa Webb is married to the Rev. Stephen Webb, retired UM pastor in Bainbridge, Georgia.
