Family and Adult Ministry Director
Tammie Bond has been in ministry to students and adults for over 26 years, and she brings many gifts to her role as Family and Adult Director at Crossroads. Tammie is passionate about guiding people to an intimate relationship with God and into deeper relationships within community.
Tammie was raised in the Methodist Church in Oneonta, New York, where she first heard the call to live a life of unconditional love, as modeled by Jesus. Tammie received a BA in Psychology from Roanoke College, where she was also a collegiate athlete. She then began her career as a mental health worker at the Roanoke Valley Psychiatric Center, where she provided counseling to adolescents.
Tammie, along with her husband Tony, served as youth leaders for two years at Herndon UMC, and she worked at Crossroads (formally Ashburn UMC) for six years as the Youth Director.
20 years ago, Tammie was the first Director of Congregational Care. In this role, she designed and led a care team, which included a healing ministry and contemplative prayer practice. She continued her spiritual training and development through the Shalem Institute in Washington, D.C. and received a certificate in Spiritual Direction in 2011. She is also a member of Spiritual Directors International.
Tammie is married to her husband Tony, and together they have two children Aaron and Amber as well as a daughter-in-law Maria José.
