Good Friday

Good Friday

Finally, Pilate gave in. Then Pilate handed Jesus over for them to do what they wanted with him. Two criminals were led out to be put to death with Jesus. When the soldiers came to the place called Golgotha, or "the skull", they nailed Jesus to a cross.

Jesus said, "Father, forgive these people! They don't know what they are doing."

Around noon the sky turned dark and stayed that way until the middle of the afternoon. The sun stopped shining, and the curtain of the temple split down the middle. Jesus shouted, "Father, I put myself in your hands!" Then he died.  (Luke 23 exerpts)

Reflection Questions
What walls have I built around myself that isolate and keep me from seeing and loving all people as people of God?

Imagine God speaking to you. What is God saying to you?

Imagine God wanting to sit in silence to hear you. What do you want to honestly say to God?

What is the connection between God's words to you and your words to God?

What in me needs to die so that I might experience the vibrant new life that comes with resurrection?

What things can I identify that only God can do because they are too big for me to do on my own?

If I trust that God goes before me, beside me and behind me, what, if anything, keeps me from surrendering my will to God?
