Preparing for a child’s baptism begins with learning the elements of the family blessing. During this time parent/s will reflect on their family story in connection with the Biblical story and the sacred gift of their child’s birth and life.
"My sister and I have been attending Crossroads United Methodist Church since we were young girls. The church was always a place of refuge and offered an unlimited welcome. We were surrounded with unconditional love at home and by our church family. Jesse and I both have the greatest childhood memories going to camp, singing in the choir, youth group, and in so many ways the walls surrounding Crossroads United Methodist and the wonderful people in its community helped shape us into the people we are today. As adults we both started bringing our husbands, Stefan and Alton to service to hear Dave's uplifting and relatable sermons. It became so important for our families to raise our children in the same environment. Choosing to baptize our kids here at Crossroads was a promise to ourselves and most importantly a pledge to God that we will always do our best to uphold the unwavering love and support towards our kids that we received as kids-living the Jesus way.
When we were approached to start leading the Baptism course we were really excited and felt this was the very best way to serve here at Crossroads. When we went through the baptism preparation the baptism class felt really intimate and brought our family closer together. We loved that the course wasn't just about straight scripture from the bible but was personalized to each family. While teaching the course we hope sharing our personal perspective to the baptism process will help create an inviting atmosphere that we feel so much here at Crossroads."
