Welcome! Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Children's Ministries! Children's Ministries serves the youngest members of the Crossroads Families and it is almost entirely staffed by volunteers. We are so grateful for others in sharing the vision with us to help God’s Kids Grow.

Please allow us to share with you some information to help answer your questions.  You can also email Flor Norris-Hoydilla for further information/questions or fill out the form below and someone will contact you.

Children's Ministries FAQs:

What is Crossroads Kids? Crossroads Kids is the name given to the ministry that serves infants through 5th grade every Sunday morning Each Sunday a group of dedicated and loving volunteers gather to teach the children about God’s unconditional love and unlimited welcome of Jesus.

What classrooms are offered for the children? We offer 4 classrooms on Sunday mornings: Nursery-Infant and Toddlers, Preschool-Kindergarten, 1st/2nd Grade, 3rd/4th, 5th Grade.

Who can serve in Crossroads Kids?  Any youth age 16 and older and adults.

What volunteer opportunities are available?  Nursery Caretaker, Classroom Teacher, Classroom Assistant, Greeter

How often can I serve?  As little or as much as you would like! Most of our volunteers serve 1 or 2 times a month at the same service on the same Sunday of each month. This helps provide familiarity to the volunteers and to the children.

Do I have to create the lessons? No, the curriculum is emailed to you the Wednesday before and all lesson prep is done for you. We just encourage you to read over the lesson before Sunday so that you can be prepared to receive the children.

How many children will I have in my classroom?  We usually serve about 10-15 children in each classroom except the nursery. The nursery usually has about 6-8 children in each service.

What do I need to do to get started?  All youth (18 years or older) and adults are required to have a background check and complete an online ministry safe training. The online course usually takes about an hour. In addition, volunteers will receive a Children's Ministries Information packet or attend the Children's Ministries annual training held in late August of each year.

We invite you to prayerfully consider how your gifts and talents might be used to help serve the children and their families. We hope this helps answer questions you may have about possibly serving with Children's Ministries on Sunday mornings.
