10:00 AM - 1:30 PM
Goose Creek Hike
Sunday, November 10
10am - 1:30pm
@ Kephart Bridge Landing
This hike in the Landsdowne area of Loudoun County will be 4.7 miles on dirt trails through woodlands adjacent to Goose Creek and the Potomac River. The trails are mostly flat with a few moderately difficult gully/stream crossings. In keeping with the mindfulness orientation of this hike, along the way we will pause to quietly enjoy the beauty of the area, and we will learn something about the history of the area.
We will meet in the Kephart Bridge Landing parking lot off Riverpoint Drive in the Landsdowne area just before 10 AM. Look for hike leader Rick wearing a blue Washington Nationals ball cap.
Please bring water and a snack or lunch.
After the hike, for those who are interested in post-hike food and/or conversation, we will meet up at a nearby restaurant.
Hike leader Rick Hower has hiked many of the trails in northern Virginia, and fall is his favorite season for hiking. His favorite outdoor activity is searching for the rare northern Virginia trail that he has not yet hiked!
(Note: since this is a mindfulness-oriented group hike, please do not ask to bring your dog along on this hike. Their presence can detract from the ability of hikers to focus attention on mindful aspects of the hike. There are other hikes/groups for which bringing a dog is more appropriate. Thank you in advance for your consideration.)
We apologize that due to the storm last night we have no Internet and we are unable to live stream at this time.
