Coats and Boots

Join us!

As the weather turns colder, it is time for Crossroads’ Coats and Boots Mission! Coats and boots will be distributed to the DC Downtown Day Services Center and the Loudoun County Homeless Shelter.

You can contribute by donating new boots sizes 8-13 as well as jackets/parkas in LG-XXXLG. You can also make a monetary donation to Crossroads marked “Coats & Boots” by mail or on our website. All donations are tax-deductible. The deadline is October 23rd.

Volunteers will be needed to sort the many coats and boots that are donated and pack them for distribution. Sorting will take place on Tuesday, October 25th, you can sign up to volunteer here.

Kathy Mackrell

I grew up in Vermont and graduated from the University of Vermont with a degree in Animal Science.  I have been married to my husband Bill for 32 years. We have two grown daughters Allison & Christine. Both attended HOPE Preschool. Our family started attending Crossroads 20 years ago, the same year I started working here. My family and I are avid Washington Capitals fans and attend games whenever possible.

Something I am trying to get better at:Being in the moment and enjoying what is going on around me as it is happening.

A song I know by heart:I know most songs by the Avett Brothers by heart and would love to hang out with them and their families for one day or more if they will have me!

My favorite Bible verse:Psalm 118:24 – This is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it.
