This year Crossroads will be providing Thanksgiving Baskets to needy families at Payne Elementary in Northwest DC. Payne Elementary students are tutored by Crossroads volunteers each week. The majority of students at this school qualify for free or reduced lunch. The Crossroads UMC family is honored to help serve our brothers and sisters in DC and share the love of Jesus during the holiday season.
You can sign-up/pick-up a basket and have additional questions answered in the church lobby after each service in November prior to Thanksgiving. If you can’t make it to the sign-up table, you may contact the servant listed below.
EACH BASKET SHOULD INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:
Turkey-frozen (10-12 lbs)
Ham-canned or fresh (4-6 lbs)
Stuffing (1 bag)
Cranberry Sauce (2 cans)
Rolls (1 package - brown ‘n serve)
Canned Corn-whole kernel or cream style (3-12 oz. Cans)
Canned string beans or peas (3-12 oz cans)
White potatoes-fresh (5 lb bag)
Yams (2 cans or 6 med fresh)

Due to the perishable items included in the baskets, please plan to deliver your basket to the Crossroads campus on Monday, November 19th between 6pm and 8pm or Tuesday morning, November 20th, between 8am and 9am.
In order for the basket distribution to be equitable, please include only the items listed above.
