Pilgrimage Mission Trip - Friday, November 30, 6pm through Saturday, December 1, 6pm. Crossroads, in partnership with the Pilgrimage and the National Coalition for the Homeless, is delighted to be offering an overnight mission trip for our entire community. This life-enhancing, heart-expanding 24-hour experience will help us to connect our faith formation with social awareness, being of service, and taking compassionate action to improve the lives of some of our neighbors facing the greatest immediate needs. By combining service, reflection, fellowship, and learning as a community and faith family, we hope to inspire a lifelong commitment to social justice within every participant.
During our time at the Pilgrimage, we will participate in a range of service opportunities around the four districts of Washington, DC. We will be able to speak with and learn from representatives who work with the National Coalition for the Homeless. We’ll also have time for reflection, processing, fellowship (and fun!) while connecting with one another before, during, and after the service and learning experiences.
The Pilgrimage’s mission is to help young people and adults create a direct, tangible bridge between their faith and social awareness and action. Their dedicated staff and volunteer base is made up of individuals (many of whom are undergraduate or graduate students) who are passionate about serving and addressing in particular the needs of Washington, DC and its surrounding neighborhoods. They create relatable, engaging programming for nearly all-ages and specialize in fostering intergenerational connections and conversations.
The Pilgrimage provides hostel-type housing. The tax-deductible participation fee is $109.00/person, which includes lodging and programming. Meals are not included. All ages are welcome.
Due to road conditions, the Crossroads office is closed and
all activities are canceled for Monday, January 14th.
