Confirmation Information Meeting

Confirmation is the moment a student stands up in worship and says, for themselves, “I believe this, and I’m in.” In the United Methodist Church it’s the first time a person publicly takes on the promises of their baptism and becomes a professing member of the church. For students who were baptized as babies, it’s their chance to own the promises their parents made for them. Students who have not yet been baptizes will be baptized as part of confirmation.
Over eight weeks, students work through the Confirmation Journal, a guide covering the story of God, prayer, Scripture, the Holy Spirit, worship, the Trinity, Jesus, the Resurrection, and the Church. Every student walks through confirmation with a mentor: a trusted adult who meets with them prays for them, and stands with them on Confirmation Sunday.
Sessions run twice a week, and it’s the same session taught twice, so students attend whichever one fits that week: Wednesday evenings with dinner. Sundays from 12:15-1:15 pm, right after the 11 am service.
