Creating Friendships for Peace, Inc.
CFP is a volunteer grassroots organization that promotes friendships between teens from divided communities in Cyprus and Israel. The friendships are nurtured through month-long home stays with American families, where each family hosts two teens – one from each side of their conflict. The teen pair share a room and learn about each other, understanding their different perspectives and realizing that friendships can develop despite significant political and cultural differences. Hosting with CFP is an opportunity for American families to participate in building peace by contributing to mutual understanding – an unforgettable experience for the family and life-changing for the pair of teens. You can donate to Creating Friendships for Peace here.

Fight Teen Food Insecurity In Northern Virginia! Food For Neighbors provides local middle and high schools with individual meals and snack items to distribute during times when students might otherwise go hungry . We do this through the Red Bag Program and the Grocery Gift Card Program donations made by our generous community. We help schools establish in-house pantries and fill them with food and toiletries collected through our Red Bag Program. The Grocery Gift Card Program enables our most vulnerable families to shop for much needed items, including fresh fruits and vegetables. Social workers and other staff identify students in need, build relationships with them, and easily connect them with these resources. With this additional support, students are better able to focus and learn. School staff believe the food helps students attend school more regularly, focus on their studies, and earn better grades. You can donate to Food for Neighbors here.

Fundación Vuya is a non-profit organization in Colombia that empowers children and youth through education, sports, and ecological initiatives, fostering social impact and sustainable opportunities in vulnerable communities. Its programs combine creativity, emotional development, and community engagement to inspire brighter futures. The mission of Futuro en Juego is to harness the power of football (soccer) as a tool for social transformation in Quibdó and the wider Pacific region of Colombia—a territory rich in culture and talent, but deeply affected by poverty, inequality, and limited opportunities for its youth. Fundación Vuya uses sport as an entry point to engage children and adolescents, combining football with psychosocial support, emotional skill-building, and educational activities. By doing so, the project aims to foster resilience, confidence, and new possibilities, helping young people envision and build a future beyond the social and economic challenges of their environment. Three other nonprofits have their offices on site. They are Crossroads Jobs, Loudoun Literacy Council, and Loudoun Volunteer Caregivers. Other agencies rotate through the center providing access to services for those coming in for food resources. Soon, a second LHR free choice-market will open its doors in Sterling, also offering access to other human services on site.
