Prime Timers Chili Cookoff

Prepare your taste buds, your sense of humor and possibly your digestive system. The Crossroads Prime Timers Chili Cook Off is coming in hot on October 10, 2026.

Think your chili has what it takes to earn bragging rights? Do you have a chili so good it could bring a tear to a grown man’s eye? A recipe passed down from your great-grandmother who swore she’d haunt you if you ever changed it? Then grab your ladle…it’s showtime.

Bring your legendary pot of chili, your mildly questionable pot of chili, or your “I made this and hope for the best” pot of chili. We welcome all skill levels, including those who consider opening a can to be “culinary innovation.”

The tasting showdown begins at 6 PM.

If cooking isn’t your thing, don’t worry. Come enjoy an evening of delicious chili, tasty sides, good company and spirited judging. You’ll help decide who takes home the title.

CHILI COOKOFF RULES

All chili styles welcome: mild, spicy, smoky, vegetarian, white chicken, mystery ingredients…bring your signature creation.

Bring at least 2 quarts so everyone gets a taste.

Vote for your favorites: bribery via cornbread, cookies, or flattery is technically frowned upon but historically effective.

Sides encouraged: cornbread, toppings, salads, desserts…anything that helps us pretend this is a balanced meal.

Good natured trash talk permitted: but keep it friendly. We’re Prime Timers, not prizefighters.
