When we asked people what they love about Crossroads, this is what they said.
I love Crossroads because…
- We use our resources to change people’s lives.
- We are welcoming and affirming of all people.
- We focus on serving the least of these.
- Crossroads loves me ❤️
- It is a vibrant community that demonstrates God’s love in all we do.
- Because I know that young people I love — grappling with all kinds of issues — will always be welcome and loved there.
- Unlimited grace and acceptance is life changing…for me personally and all who attend Crossroads.
- Our Pastors are kind, inspiring, motivational and forward thinking.
- Our outreach programs touch many people in our community.
- The warm welcome from our pastors, staff and congregation encourages me to make new friends, exercise and grow my relationship with our holy trinity and serve others as Jesus did.
- The ‘culture of belonging’ at Crossroads mirrors the heart of Jesus.
- We preach that EVERYONE is welcomed – and we practice what we preach!!!
- We truly welcome everyone and we unashamedly promote that fact to everyone, everywhere!!
- I love Crossroads because we welcome and acknowledge the work of the Holy Spirit among us.
- I love the people of Crossroads!! It’s what has always kept me coming back here!!
- I love our church because we are always open to change and improvement.
- The staff and volunteers are fantastic, welcoming, team players
- I can invite my friends to church and know that everyone at Crossroads will welcome them with the love of Jesus!
- Worship on Sunday is simply amazing —– from the message to the music to the experience; I always leave being a better person.
- It fulfills me spiritually.
- Crossroads is full of the most genuine and kind people I have ever met!
- I feel totally loved and never judged.
- We are a wonderful embodiment of Open hearts, Open minds, and Open doors.
- We preach and believe that everyone is a child of God and loved by God.
- Because it lifts my spirit and provides many areas I can provide a service.
- The special people and the sermons fill my heart and make our family better
- I can just be me and that is always enough
- I think this is what Jesus had in mind when he envisioned church
- My children love coming to Crossroads and that fills my heart.
- The message and music are inspiring; I feel connected in a church where I belong.
- Unlimited welcome
- My favorite things… everyone is always welcome at Crossroads. Plus, the whole staff is absolutely fabulous. And the space is beautiful. The Christmas decorations always knock me out, including that uplifting pride flag Christmas tree. The vibrant and growing PFLAG Group that Crossroads generously gives space to. And the trunk or treat that draws like a thousand (literally!) neighbors! That funerals are done with honest knowledge and respect of the person being remembered. The native habitat with the bird bath and garden steps welcoming wildlife and people by the front door. And of course Pastor Tim Ward with his warmth and sense of humor who makes everyone feel like a close friend.
- Your messages and THE MUSIC! and of course, the people!
- It’s the unlimited welcome for me. A lot of churches have “all are welcome” on their sign but they don’t really mean it. I love that crossroads goes out of their way to spell out what that means. I love that Crossroads puts that into action with the ESOL program, involvement in numerous charities and by showing up at events like Loudoun pride. I felt proud of my church when TWICE while sitting in LCPS district wide equity meetings Crossroads was mentioned as a place where people could go for help. (Once as a place to get food for food insecure families, and the other as a safe meeting place for parents of LGBTQ youth looking for support.)
- I am thankful for the thriving children’s program and that my kids look forward to going every Sunday. I love that Crossroads is a place that they feel loved and will grow up seeing church as a positive experience.
- This one is hard to explain, but I love that the sermons are full of “hot takes.” Drastically different viewpoints on biblical teachings I grew up hearing. My best example is the “rebel Jesus” sermon series. I feel like that one series enormously changed my perception of Jesus and allowed me to deepen my relationship with him.
- Rich had some negative experiences with church growing up, and this is the first church we’ve been to in adulthood where he feels invested again. He frequently mentions how unintentionally he will bring up points or ideas from Sunday’s sermon while talking with colleagues. So frequently that his coworkers have said “wow you must be really into church!”
- From the moment we came into Crossroads it has been a community not just a church. Interacting with people with similar passions about Christ and helping is refreshing . It is more than a church, it is truly a community unlike any other .
- It truly is welcome to everyone! I have loved that from the beginning! It is what drew me to Crossroads United Methodist Church. Now that I have a son it is more important than ever that he knows everyone is welcome and loved by God! The kids and youth programs are dreams come true. The kids and youth want to come every Sunday and want to participate. The family activities are super fun and a great way to spend time together! The messages are inspired and just what we need to hear! We are so blessed and grateful for such a dream church. The Crossroads staff are truly amazing and second to none! The outreach programs help people in the world and community!
- The welcome we receive and our outreach to the community – local and global. ESL, food for neighbors, school break bundles, the mission to Guatemala, Thanksgiving race, etc
- Unlike our previous church Crossroads embodies “practice what you preach” there is such a sense of LOVE!!!!!
- I LOVE hearing every week where funds are going. I love knowing we are actually helping real people in our community and neighborhoods.
- Our children LOVE every adult they interact with! We all love the fact we are loved exactly as we are! It’s the embodiment of Jesus in our community to me.
